Turn any ImmuBiome tub around and you’ll find Latin names, CFU counts and percentages that don’t mean much at first glance. This page puts every ingredient on our labels into plain words, says why it’s there, and tells you which of our formulas carry it. Ingredients on a label run from most to least, and on most of our tubs the first lines are mushrooms, colostrum and probiotics.

Key points
- Seven mushroom species appear across our labels, each chosen for its formula’s job.
- Nine formulas share a gut-first base of probiotics, prebiotics and bovine colostrum.
- Every formula lists its colostrum, probiotics and beta-glucans as real numbers.
- There’s no molasses or added sweetener in any ImmuBiome formula.
The mushrooms
We use organic, functional mushrooms, the kind sold as foods and teas. Most of our formulas use them full spectrum, meaning the label lists mycelium, primordia, fruiting bodies and extracellular compounds, so every stage of the mushroom’s life goes in. Our mushroom species page has more on how each one is grown and prepared.
Antrodia (Antrodia camphorata, also called Taiwanofungus camphoratus)
A Taiwanese mushroom valued for its antioxidant compounds. It’s one of the six mushrooms behind our joint and spine formulas.
Found in: Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus)
A mushroom that grows on birch trees and is rich in antioxidants. We pair it with Reishi rather than using it on its own.
Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis and Cordyceps militaris)
Two Cordyceps species, traditionally used to support stamina and healthy oxygen use. They’re the backbone of our energy and airway formulas.
Found in: Energy, Breathe, Strength & Stamina, Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve.
King Trumpet (Pleurotus eryngii)
A meaty mushroom we add to support healthy bone, joints and connective tissue in working horses.
Found in: Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve, Strength & Stamina.
Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus)
The shaggy white mushroom at the heart of Spine & Nerve, chosen to support healthy nerve function. It’s the only mushroom in Nerve Boost and also brings prebiotic fiber to our gut formulas. More on our Lion’s Mane page.
Found in: Spine & Nerve, Nerve Boost, G-Tract, Immune, Joint & Recovery, Strength & Stamina.

Lion’s Mane plus five more mushrooms for daily spine and nerve support.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)
Valued as an adaptogen in traditional practice, Reishi is tied with Lion’s Mane as the mushroom we use most. Super Concentrate uses concentrated extracts of three Reishi-type species: Ganoderma lucidum, Ganoderma applanatum and Ganoderma tsugae.
Found in: Focus, Lean Muscle, Breathe, Spine & Nerve, Joint & Recovery, Super Concentrate (as extracts).
Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor)
A striped, fan-shaped mushroom packed with fiber and polysaccharides that hindgut bacteria ferment, which makes it a natural prebiotic. It supports normal immune function too.

Turkey Tail and Lion’s Mane with probiotics, live yeast and colostrum for everyday gut support.
Mycelium, primordia and fruiting bodies
The life stages of a mushroom. Mycelium is the root-like network, primordia are the first pinheads, and the fruiting body is the mushroom you’d recognize. Extracellular compounds are what the mycelium releases into the material it grows on. Each stage carries different compounds, so we use them all in our full-spectrum formulas.
Mushroom extract
A concentrated preparation made by steeping the mushroom (with hot water or alcohol, depending on the species) to pull out more of certain compounds. Super Concentrate is our extract formula.
Colostrum
Bovine colostrum
The first milk a cow makes after calving, rich in proteins, immunoglobulins and growth factors. Ours is human-grade, collected within 16 hours of calving and gently processed. It supports normal immune function, the gut lining and muscle and tissue maintenance. Read more on our colostrum page.
Amounts on our labels: 8,750 mg in Lean Muscle, 3,000 mg in Strength & Stamina and 1,500 mg in G-Tract, Immune, Breathe, Energy, Focus, Joint & Recovery and Spine & Nerve. Super Concentrate and Nerve Boost don’t contain colostrum.
Probiotics and yeast
Probiotics
Live, friendly bacteria that support a balanced gut microbiome and nutrient absorption. Nine of our formulas carry 3 billion CFU from eight strains: Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus plantarum. See prebiotics and probiotics for how they work with the hindgut.
Found in: G-Tract, Immune, Breathe, Energy, Focus, Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve, Strength & Stamina, Lean Muscle. (Not in Super Concentrate or Nerve Boost.)
CFU (colony forming units)
A count of live organisms that can grow and multiply. On a probiotic label it tells you how many living microbes are going into his feed.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces cerevisiae boulardii
Live yeasts that support healthy digestion and a steady hindgut. G-Tract’s label lists 25 billion CFU of Saccharomyces. Immune lists the same two yeasts in its ingredients.
Hydrolyzed yeast
Yeast that has been broken down into smaller pieces. It sits alongside the live yeasts on the label.
Found in: G-Tract, Immune.
Prebiotics and fiber
Prebiotics
Food for the good bacteria. In our formulas the prebiotics come mainly from mushroom fiber and fungi-derived polysaccharides, which the microbes in the cecum and colon ferment.
Amounts on our labels: 10,000 mg in Super Concentrate and Nerve Boost; 8,000 mg in Immune, Breathe, Energy, Joint & Recovery and Spine & Nerve; 7,000 mg in Focus; 6,500 mg in Strength & Stamina; 5,500 mg in G-Tract; 750 mg in Lean Muscle.
Fungi-derived polysaccharides
Long-chain carbohydrates made by the mushrooms themselves, including the beta-glucans below. They’re a big part of why mushrooms work as prebiotics.
Found in: G-Tract, Immune, Breathe, Energy, Focus, Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve, Strength & Stamina, Lean Muscle.
Fenugreek
A seed from the pea family, listed alongside the prebiotics and probiotics in nine of our formulas.
Found in: G-Tract, Immune, Breathe, Energy, Focus, Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve, Strength & Stamina, Lean Muscle.
Beta-glucans
1,3/1,6 beta-glucans
Fibers from mushroom and yeast cell walls that support a balanced immune response. The "1,3/1,6" describes how the chains in the fiber are linked together. Every ImmuBiome label gives a minimum percentage. More on our beta-glucans page.
Amounts on our labels: at least 25% in G-Tract, Immune, Breathe, Energy, Focus, Joint & Recovery, Spine & Nerve and Strength & Stamina; at least 15% in Super Concentrate and Nerve Boost; at least 10% in Lean Muscle.
Other ingredients
Magnesium proteinate
Magnesium bound to protein, a form that’s easy for the body to take up. It supports normal muscle function. The Focus label lists 175 mg of magnesium.
Found in: Focus.

Ingredient questions owners ask
Which ImmuBiome formulas contain mushrooms?
All eleven. Lion’s Mane and Reishi are the most widely used, in six formulas each, counting Super Concentrate’s Reishi extracts. Lean Muscle’s only mushroom is Reishi, and Nerve Boost’s only mushroom is Lion’s Mane.
Which formula has the most colostrum?
Lean Muscle, with 8,750 mg of bovine colostrum on the label. Strength & Stamina has 3,000 mg, and seven more formulas have 1,500 mg each.
Do all ImmuBiome formulas contain probiotics?
Nine of the eleven do, each with 3 billion CFU. Super Concentrate and Nerve Boost are made without probiotics or colostrum, since they’re built to sit alongside a daily formula.
What is the difference between a prebiotic and a probiotic?
A probiotic is a live, friendly microbe. A prebiotic is the fiber those microbes eat. Our formulas pair the two, with most of the prebiotic fiber coming from mushrooms.
Do ImmuBiome formulas contain molasses or sweeteners?
No. There’s no molasses or added sweetener in any of them, which matters to owners of easy keepers.
